Default Popping noise when turning steering wheel

I have a "rattle" that is beyond annoying. It's been to the dealer twice. They've replaced the steering column and some bearings, and the noise is still there.

Noise: when the car is in motion 10-15 MPH and I turn the steering wheel counter clockwise, there is a clicking or popping noise that sounds like it's coming from the interior steering column. Don't hear it when stationary, and don't hear it when turning clockwise. Super easy to replicate in a parking deck when you are rounding corners.

Anyone else experience? Any suggestions? It's one of those things that once you recognize it, it's all you hear.

Why was your steering rack replaced.... Only due to the rattle or did you have steering alignment issues?

Because of the noise! I thought it was crazy, especially when it didn't fix the noise.

Did you ever get this fixed? I'm having a noise from left front wheel well (I think) whenever I'm driving above 10mph and turn the car more than a 1/4 turn to the right. I took it in a few months ago to have it looked at, and they told me they couldn't find anything wrong. Said it was safe to drive. It sounds like a grinding noise that is more pronounced the more the car articulates. I guess it could be wheel bearings or maybe the CV joint?

Hello, a while ago in my D17 I started to hear a metallic click when turning the steering wheel, especially when turning counterclockwise, speaking with a JLR technician, he told me that it had already happened to them but that they did not know where for sure that click came from and he recommended me to remove the aluminum cover that protects the underside of the engine, so I did and the click disappeared. I have glued an anti-noise sheet on the aluminum plate, put it back on the vehicle and there is no more clicking sound. I don't know if it's the same but it might help you. Excuse me because I'm using the translator.

I wouldn't describe my noise as a click, so may end up being something different. But, I'll take a look at the skid plate, too.

You are right in thinking that it will not be the same, but the test to rule it out is as simple as loosening 8 or 10 screws. It was really a very strong click, a very strong metallic sound and the most you heard was when parking in reverse. Greetings.
