Possible suspension issue/damage help
Hello! Can anyone offer any advice/help on an issue with a discovery 5 drive/tyre/suspension issue?
June last year the car had start up, acceleration, loss of power issues - went into the dealership and ended up needing a replacement engine and solenoid which was covered on warranty.
At the moment the car still is not right, often will stall/cut out and lack of performance. Alongside this going over 50mph produces quite dramatic shaking.
LR tech came out, and said it was as a tyre/tracking issue and dismissed the engine issue (it doesn’t do it all the time). Took car to regular tyre place who wouldn’t touch tracking as they felt it was a mechanical issue but did point out rear passage tyre was worn badly down to the wire on one side and bulging and also that the car was un level. Booked car in for tyre change next day once in stock
In the mean time LR tech comes back out and disagrees and says that’s just how LR tyres wear normally. Took car back to get tyres changes and damage on tyre is really significant. They refuse again to do tracking as they believe mechanical issue.
car now in dealership, who’s customer service have been horrendous.
Once again they have dismissed the engine and have accused us of having a significant collision in the car which has damaged/twisted the suspension.
the car was bought from a dealership fairly new low mileage and had been briefly used as a demonstration car, we are the only owners/drivers since and the car hasn’t been involved in an accident of any type. Nor has it been driven off road or hit any pot holes etc
they also asked about off road driving - which although the car is designed for this, we’ve never done. It’s used as a business vehicle with tyres servicing done always on time and I have records of normal tyre wear prior to this issue
Are there any other ways this damage could have happened? The only time we don’t know about is when they’ve changed he engine and replaced the solenoid and done all of the work up before this , and had the car for a week. Im not necessarily accusing the garage of causing the damage, but the way they are being and also refusing to even tell me the cost of the repair, and saying the only way this can have been caused is by a significant collision makes me very worried. They’ve even had body shop in who agree there is no significant collision evidence from the outside of the Vehicle
they also say they don’t actually know what the issue is with the suspension but need to remove the arm to look for a twist initially
The issues have been going on since last year and it’s we’ve only now managed to get it looked at in the garage
if anyone has any ideas on what could be going on with the car id really appreciate any comments
Thank you 😊

There are many solenoids on a vehicle (it’s a generic term, like bolt or switch) so without knowing which one you’re talking about...
As for the engine, i don’t see how that could have anything to do with the rear passenger tyre wearing and bulging (assuming that’s the only tyre that has a problem).
I don’t know what was involved in replacing the engine but if something is out of alignment it could cause vibration (like a driveshaft) and if something is out of alignment it could cause uneven tyre wear.
The fact the vehicle is stalling out is not good, that should never happen...
Assuming your tyre wear was even before the engine was replaced it suggests something wasn’t done right when they did that (it’s a major operation after all).
Have you considered having it examined by another dealer or even an independent? If you do don’t start out by telling them the story, just say the engine keeps stalling and there are vibration issues. Same goes for the tyre wear, don’t give the back story and see what an independent says.
