Default Rear roof access ladder?

Just wondering if anyone has come across a ladder to mount on rear of the D5 for climbing up to access the roof.

I know they made them for the LR3's and 4's.

Cheers.

It would be difficult to engineer and will probably take cutting as the rear spoiler, spoils the location...

Interesting, and probably more handy than in the rear.

Not great for parking or aerodynamics, lol.

I am also interested in this. I was a huge fan of the look and functionality of the ladder on my D4. The rear spoiler of the D5 presents an interesting challenge but I am sure it can be done.

The rhino rack one detaches when not in use and stores in the car or on the rack. I like it because I would rather come at the roof top cargo from the side and not the back. You can switch sides as well. This would be very valuable when securing a kayak or two.

They make a bracket to store the ladder on the roof when not in use. Search Results | Rhino-Rack

Something like this slam-latch step http://a.co/d/hvipXrX seems more practical than a ladder on the side. You can move it to either side and just stow it away when not needed.

I have a rack for mine and getting the rack on, then getting suitcases on the rack once it is on is tricky. Best way I've found so far (because I don't want to carry around a stool) is to stand on the rear tires for the rear or open the front doors and stand there. Less than ideal and I have to balance as well as work.

I'll keep an eye on this thread.

<< Edit: Thanks to SoCalWiley for the suggested slam-latch step (http://a.co/d/hvipXrX), this looks like the simplest option, I know what I'm asking Santa for this year. >>
