Great looking set up! What rack are you running up there?

It’s a FrontRunner, really stable as the rack uses the roof bar bolt holes.

Posted this question in another thread, but could be good to ask here as well...

Has anyone fitted a rtt with the factory crossbars or really with any brand crossbars? Wondering if it's pushing limit since the rtt is about 160lbs and that's roughly what all the crossbars are rated at.

Ended up buying a Frontrunner rack yesterday.

Has anyone fit a aluminum clamshell tent to a D5? Curious if it works considering they are all 85”-90+” long.

Any idea of the total weight of your roof load? Figure with rack, rtt, and accessories, should be around 200lbs? Reason I ask is twofold: how well does it handle off roading and JLR technically list the max roof load at 176lbs. Not buying that max load rating through since that's the exact max load rating they list for the factory rails. Seems very suspicious that they'd make rails that would max out the roof rating. So, I suspect the max roof rating if quite underrated.

I have the same FR rack and plan to grab a RTT in spring. Mounting to the RTT is more secure that crossbars, so I think I'd prefer that route even though the total weight would be beyond the "max" load rating and the crossbars would be within.

I think the Breezeway 62 is 143lbs. There isn’t that much room left when the RTT is loaded to carry anything else. Everything has been solid so far and I’ve gone through Mojave and other trails. I know a Jeep owner had the roof buckle in but he mounted on the roof bars. I really like that the FR is installed and supported with its’ own bolts and not relying on the roof rails.

Perfect, thanks! So with rtt and rack you’re at roughly 205lbs. Almost exactly the weight I was looking to support with rack, rtt, and awning.

So does anyone know what the theoretical max load on the roof should be. I'm 240lbs, and with the wife, plus RTT and accessories that would put us at 560/600lbs+.
