Service due in 1700 miles? But I already reset it....
I have a little over 10k miles on my MY20 Td6 D5, changed the oil last at 7.5k miles, and reset the oil life monitor. So why am I getting the service due in xxxx miles? My vehicle literally just did hit it's one-year birthday from production last week, (took me nearly six weeks to get to me when I got it with single-digit miles on it,) so maybe it is looking for the annual diesel fuel filter replacement? And that was my second oil change with just 5.5k miles on that oil. I can't imagine I have any oil dilution, I had indiscernible traces in my last oil change (definitely do an analysis on my used oil and especially in this vehicle.) That and I have a predominant amount of highway miles on mine.
I did the oil reset at both oil changes and I just performed the service reset procedure again where you open the door, unlatch the hood, and put both feet on the brake and gas until you see the service resetting. My F10 BMW M5 was pretty sophisticated but at least it offered me a relatively simple and intuitive way to update maintenance procedures such as brakes and oil. Not sure if I need to get the GAP ID2 tool or what.

I have the Launch and the gap, I don't know what functionality I have with the gap on the D5. Maybe next time we should plug in both for a bit of a comparison @gmfain

I have no experience with the other launch products, so I don't know if they will do the same things. I knew that one would allow for coding on a lot of vehicles and that was my big draw to the high end one.
On the LR3 it seems to match the GAP

Still couldn't get the service indicator to reset (it says it is resetting and then comes up and says it reset, but the mileage is not getting reset,) so I took it to the dealer this morning. The dealer attempted to reset it with their tool and gave the vehicle back to me, but as soon as I got in it and started the vehicle, it still said service due (in zero miles.) Kind of disappointed that they didn't even verify on their end before they gave me back my vehicle. There are previous bulletins out about something like this very similar on other Land Rover products in recent years, (N118NAS3) but nothing that I can find for MY20 Discovery. I'm going to try the LAUNCH X431 CRP909X first at just over $400 and if that doesn't work, maybe I'll have to try the LAUNCH X431 Diagun V that you showed me. Fortunately, it just says service due when I first start the vehicle and it does go away, but if it were to become any more obtrusive it could very easily become unbearable real quick.
