Si6 Cooling System Service
Beware of the parts you install. I had a good independent shop perform preventative cooling system service including replacing the plastic crossover pipes, bypass tubes, thermostat and outlet pipes with aftermarket aluminum parts. One of the parts looked okay but leaked and the job had to be redone. They did it over under warranty with now available genuine LR aluminum components. It would have been a real problem if I had to do it over myself or if I had provided the faulty components. I don’t know the manufacturer of the faulty components but this shop doesn’t buy junk. I would recommend to others to use genuine LR parts if available in aluminum (not the plastic stuff though).

Besides gaskets, the original repair used:
011038 Water Outlet Plug
049990 Tube, Thermostat to Engine
033994 Tube, Water Pump to Thermostat
045239 Throttle Body Heater Hose
The above parts are Genuine LR
090630 Tube, Coolant to Upper Hose
092992 Coolant Outlet Pipe
117568 Thermostat Assembly with sensor
122710 Crossover Manifold Rear
The above 4 parts were Metal by Euro Amp brand
The failed parts were:
090630 Tube, Coolant to Upper Hose
092992 Coolant Outlet Pipe
And were replaced with genuine LR parts which weren't available at first repair:
186859 Tube, Coolant to Upper Hose
186917 Coolant Outlet Pipe
The following 2 metal Euro Amp parts were not available in metal from LR and were not leaking after the repair so were not replaced during second repair:
117568 Thermostat Assembly with sensor
122710 Crossover Manifold Rear
Note:
When using aftermarket metal parts, the genuine LR O-rings were used. Don't use the O-rings that come with the aftermarket parts.

Great info. So basically everything OEM besides the rear crossover and thermostat housing. Glad to know the Euro Amp rear crossover in aluminum is a good solution along with the t stat housing. This is the route I’ll plan to take when I get to this project. My 20’ just hit 50k miles so I’ve got a little more mileage left before I’ll address preventatively
Did you find out how the euro amp parts failed?
Mine is leaking and I need to order the parts to get the fix in motion. I noticed that they have a 'v3' of their kit, so I am curious if your shop got a previous version that had some issues they maybe fixed.
Thanks for posting this because I don't want to do it twice.

The version that failed was ordered in April and delivered in May. It wasn’t the seal but evidently didn’t fit right. It cost my shop a lot of labor. It leaked a few ounces of coolant every drive. Even 20 or 30 miles.
My 2019 Disco 5 with 140,000 miles finally suffered the dreaded coolant leak. Picking it up from a local Indy shop today. I weighed the cost of repairs, value as a trade-in and just decided to just keep it. Besides I wasn't impressed with anything I test drove either. Getting the crossover/outlet pipes, water pump, thermostat, and hoses replaced, along with SC and accessory belts while its apart. Have owned it since new with no major issues until now, only nuisance items (windshield leak, 2 window regulator replacements, infotainment software issue). Had some minor transmission glitches with shifting that went away after doing AT service.
