Do you know if the new 18d update can downloaded or do you have to take it to the dealer? If not, what is the software update in the menu option for?

 

So far it's for maps and apps. OS updates still have to be dealer installed.

 

There were multiple times I attempted a "Check for Update" only to be told there was nothing. Last time I did it was this month. According to the dealer, the 18D software was available starting in mid-Dec. So, not yet.

 

To my knowledge, the Check For Update doesn't apply to the OS, only to apps and maps.

 

I understand that you can not update the OS remotely, but can you confirm which version is installed? My screen shows no information regarding the version. Thanks.

 

I just had my software updated to 18D at the dealership. Dealer confirmed that future updates should be available over the air.

 

Had a prompt this morning when I started up that a new software update was available: 19A and a 91MB download. My '19 D5 came with 18D installed. Never had an update done at the dealer before.
