Tire Rotation

Tire Rotation
Hi,
I need to rotate the tires. I plan to use a floor jack and jack stands. I know where the four jacking points are on the car for the jack stands. My question is, where are the front and rear lift pointa for the floor jack? I don't want to damage anything on the underside.
Thank you

With running boards installed, the mounting brackets for the running boards cover the original jacking point. The mounting bracket for the board has a jacking point built into it, much like the original, just further under the car. I would like to put a jackstand under this new jacking point. I'm still unsure as to where to lift with the floor jack. Should I use the floor jack under the running board mounting bracket or try to use the floor jack where the bracket attaches to the frame?

That’s the problem when there’s no frame to use for jacking.
What I’ve done is jack up rear running board mount high enough to raise entire side of vehicle. Then place jack stand under front running board mount. Repeat on other side. Then I have jacked entire rear end under differential and placed stands under rear running board mounts. That’s what I do if I want to get underneath. Other people may say not to jack under rear differential. I don’t recall but maybe I found a rear differential mounting bracket to jack under.
And if I am getting underneath I also leave at least one jack underneath also with a light load on it for backup.
If I am only rotating wheels and not getting underneath I will usually use the two front jack stands and only the jack at one rear running board mount then the other.
And last time I just used two jacks and no jack stands since one jack will lift both wheels on one side and the other jack will lift one wheel on other side. If a jack failed I would not be underneath. But that’s my method and I am not recommending it to anyone else.

For the rears, I just place the floor jack under the lower control arms. Super easy. Unfortunately for the front I have to use the stock jack location.
If you have a tall enough floor jack, you can put the jack on the rear factory jack point and it'll lift up the front and rear at the same time. Very convenient.
