Default Tires question

So this is definitely a really off-topic question but one of my buddies are selling a set of 4 BFG Ko2's with 60% tread left how many like mm/32 is anybody running around a similar tread number. To be honest I cant afford brand new Ko2's and I still wanna go offroad.
Somebody let me know

Also if you have any experience with this tire let me know.

When I bought my current rig ( Copperhead ) It had the 20" W/BFG'S KM2's, I have run these before on other rigs, I love them. That being said..... I had already purchased The Compomotive 18" fitted the KM3's. I will be going back to the KM2's when these are wore out. I recommend the KM2's. Rotate every 5K.

I guess it depends.

So I guess tread depth is right around 7~8/32nds? That would be half/touch over half.

Ideally, you want to swap out your off road tires when they are at about 50% tread. Below 50% tread, off road tires begin to lose their grip (makes sense, need aggressive lugs to told onto terrain, can't do that if the lugs are worn out).

Real talk. If he is selling for like, $500 or whatever, do it. Just expect for them to be BALD in 30k or so. So realistically, you'll have ~1 year of decent off road capability with these tires (assuming you put 10-15k on the vehicle a year). But $500 for tires to have fun for a few years, not bad.

Another issue is the spare. Make sure you got one. The benefit of going with a used set of tires, just get a whatever spare 2nd hand.

Alternatively, get a discount tire credit card, buy new, pay off over a year or so. I've done that multiple times. Just pay $150/month at 0% interest (also I like discount tire so, also that).
