Default Towing

I was just about to buy a Travel trailer and trade in my 2000 Coleman tent trailer and I was wondering if I would need to use sway bars when using my Land Rover because I've heard of the Land Rover having sway assist do I need to have a specific option on my car to have this or does every discovery come with it????

As long as you have the OEM towing package you have the sway control built into the software. Needing sway bars depends on how big of a travel trailer you want to go with. If you plan to tow something more than 21 or 22 feet I would suggest using sway bars. I tend to use sway bars and turn off the DSC so that the software sway control doesn’t try to compensate when the bars are as well. If no bars than leave DSC on.

These are towing champs. Did 1k miles over the holiday weekend, and it never put a foot wrong the entire time. Lot of high elevation mountain passes. Good power, amazing stability, terrific suspension. They punch well above their weight.

Ours is a TD6. Met someone that had an SI6 during the weekend, they had similar experience though.

What is the total weight of the camper you are pulling? Be good for others here to know as a guide. Thanks.

I pull this with regularity up to 300 miles in a day. Boat with trailer around 6500 pounds.

Total length 33ft. Weight empty 5,800lbs loaded just over 7,000lbs. Tongue weight 630lbs.

Averaged 18MPG while towing as well, even with the elevation climbs.

I cannot describe how good of a tow vehicle it really is. You get plenty of weird looks from the 1/2 and 3/4 ton pickup truck crowd though 🙂
