Default Tpms

Just put on a new set of wheels. I bought new genuine 433 MHz sensors.

vehicle instantly picked them up. No coding or shenanigans.

How much were the sensors and where did you purchase them from?

Good to hear. Bought factory ones for my winter wheels - not yet installed - and my dealer said I must take them in for them to program (and program back in the spring).

Purchased from: Land Rover Merriam Parts
Part number: LR070840
Price: $105.40ea

Sitting in my garage waiting for me to order the tires.

I bought 4 and am leaving the spare alone. Did you do that and still did not have issues with pairing up with the car?

Would love to just drop off everything at tire place and then have them install the new wheels/tires and not have to go to the dealer.

Exactly what I did. I’m waiting on my spare from Powder Coat and then I’ll be installing a full size spare and can let you know my experience after that

Default What happens without TPMS

If I put a set of wheels on without any TPMS will the dash show an error?

I have not tried, but Im guessing it will.

Based on my experience, the newer TPMS system is not so Gestapo like. When we put the new wheels on, we had a notice at start up that pressures were not correct, then nothing. After checking the pressures from the tire shop were all over the place. Rears were 32 and 45, but system wanted 50. So, what I am saying is that earlier systems would would show a fault light on full time for a similar infraction.

Yes. Dash will show an error if you have a wheel without a tpms on it

Spare doesn't usually have tpms - the half size donuts are at a different pressure anyway so it would misread

If you put a new tpms on a wheel it will auto learn. No reprogramming
But non oem tpms sensors are unreliable on JLR vehicles and you can get intermittent errors which are very irritating...
