Default Weight Distribution hitch

I was just wondering should I use a weight distribution hitch when I'm towing a TT I know that LR doesn't recommend it but I was just looking for other opinions on this topic

I have a 2017 TD6. I use a Propride 3P. I've used it with and without weight distribution. Vehicle dynamics are much better without weight distribution. When using weight distribution the truck is unsettled over large undulations and wants to bob. Feels underdamped.

I use a Hensley with my 2017 TD6 and I don't have the undulation issue described above. I do use the weight distribution and have almost 30k miles of towing my travel trailer which weighs about 7000lbs fully loaded. I have been on multiple CAT scales and have ensured I was within the vehicle's capacity. I have been over the rear axle weight rating, but only by about 150lbs. Those not using weight distribution have to be way overloaded.

When you say "LR doesn't recommend it", does that mean it was told to you? Don't want the tone of this to be rude, but it specifically says not to use a WD Hitch in the owners manual, but maybe that's what you meant by your statement. Just looking for clarification. I tow a camper that is probably in the 5k to 5.5k range of weight and I do not use a WD hitch because of that reason.

I Also use scales to manage my axle loading. I can configure my trailer and vehicle loads such that I don't exceed limits.

Good, my comment was more for those who don't use weight distribution.
