Default 2001 Land Rover Discovery 2 SE

Bought this today, took me 2 months contemplating on which one to buy. I assume it is called something like Champagne color, beige interior, sunroof x2, Service light is on. has 101K miles on it. Outside one taillight cover is broken. Inside the driver door panel has a small hole. but, guess what, everything works, everything, LOL
I will post a technical question in another location.
I will be adding a serious DIY roof rack, a radio with slide out screen for nav. and back up camera
I have downloaded, printed and spiraled the manual for drivers and next weekend will do the same with the technical manual
I used the ELM327 in combination with the DashCmd app, drove the car for 15 minutes on road and highway and still no error codes, just a clean screen with all normal numbers on the app
driving was smooth, no shaking, no rattling, no knocking and no extra curricular exhaust roaring.
bought this to get to a transit center, 3 miles from home 5 days a week on regular streets, no offroading for me, I drove enough off road 40 years ago when in the army LOL

oh, yes, I did pay for the truck... almost $4000, that is 3500 plus all fees -

this is mine now.
will ne installing the back up cam(have it already) and the parking sensor kit (on its way) while I am repairing the roof leak and redo the headliner
will be looking at the 12 v outlet and replace it with a usb, aux and voltmeter
will try to get the cd changer to work so it detects CDs
will install the ladder and a spare tire cover ( got them yesterday) after I get the replacement tire mount (one bolt had broken off)
got a replacement right tail light to replace the broken one - came from Taiwan, province of China.
further things to do... refresh the leather interior to get it a bit cleaner possible
a few more things on the list are find a good separate mount for a jerry can, some cup holders that can hold a Seattle coffee mug! what were the designers thinking? LOL
check the front and rear window defrosters ( seem disconnected now)
replace the synthetic oil end fo the year and check the DEX-Coolant reservoir
buy a bottle jack that fits the space behind the battery.
that will keep me busy for a few weeks ......

Buy a roll of radiant barrier to put above the headliner.
Will keep it alot cooler inside. About $25 for 4'×10' roll.

The center of the cupholders twist out too, they'll hold a big cup then.

Looks good. Yes, the console cup holders make a huge difference...the dash one is a joke. Plus, every time you go to shift it in low range...your knuckles hit the cup holder and it pops out. It's a well designed system...lol.

Good luck with your new rig.

Brian.
