Howdy all. A friend has an 1996 Disco he bought new and has taken a few of us out in the Arizona desert and mine country for some target practice. I've been smitten with what these vehicles are capable of and have been looking around Ebay and Craigs' list for some closer to home.
I've seen a few on Ebay from around L.A. and have been in contact with a gent called Elias who sells these on line. His posts are very informative and knowledgeable. He brings these units up to snuff, meaning everything is in working condition. His business is called World Proven Land Rover.
He says he's known throughout the Land Rover sites and has been working on and selling these for 20 odd years. My question is...does anyone here know him and if so is he as reputable as he sounds?
One of his vehicles, a white 2004 Discovery 127K sold for $8400.

I hope it's ok to post that. If you can read that, he's put ALOT of extras on this and others I've seen posted.
Is that a high price for a vehicle that's had all those items attended to?

Any info would help me decide what to get in the coming weeks. This would be used on weekends, some camping, nothing hard core for awhile at least. Leaning toward D1's for easier fixability and price...though I've talked with Elias about a possible 1 owner. '98 Disco HSE7 130K that once everything has been gone over the price should be about $5500. Too much, fair? From what I've seen on line that might not be bad, provided it's set straight like he says.

Thanks again. I'll be reading here for some time. Looks like a LOT of great info.

I have been on here for a few years and have not heard that name. However that is not the measure of his work. Anytime you are planning on paying more than a flat screen TV include funds for indy inspection. Gone over may be cosmetic. On a D2 you would want new head gaskets, front prop shaft converted to greaseable, new 180F thermostat, etc. Look thru our site for liks to manuals, and the trials other owners went thru.

That's Elias Christeas, "In Search of the Experience" video guy. Don't know much about the LRs he sells other than they bring crazy big money on ebay. For example a '95 RRC for OMG $27,620 > Land Rover Range Rover County LWB | eBay

The "In Search..." video is cool Film Skillet - In Search of the Experience by Elias Christeas-

But with any Rover it doesn't matter who you buy it from....GET IT LOOKED AT!!!!

That's Elias Christeas. He sells some of the cleanest trucks at the most reasonable prices I've seen. He is also the one that made the In Search of the Experience DVD. He runs a Rover repair/resto shop. I would not hesitate to buy a vehicle from him and his price seems fair if the truck is really clean and up to snuff on maintenance.
Here's some vehicles he's sold on Dweb.
