Default Always Been Curious about Land Rover

Hello,

Not yet an owner but considering buying a Discovery. I'm sure as I read and take in your posts I'll began to see the Pros and Cons of ownership. One thing I've noticed and frankly part of what has drawn me in is the low asking price of the older 98 to 06 units with around 130-190k miles. Are these units reaching a milestone where disaster strikes (as in major mechanical breakdowns). Any comments on this concern would be useful and appreciated.

Pay a little more for maintenance history (up to date) and a good paint/interior. Find one with the expensive add ons ie roof rack if you want them. Values will likely go up if kept in good condition.
