Hi.Thank you for welcoming us and helping us.
We love these vehicles but are not really well off so taking our LR3 SE 2006
to the dealer is a hard expense..the dealer who incidently has renovated the place in such a high end way it is now even more scarey...So we need to use mechanics whenever possible.

Welcome.

Dealers consider customers as those who can pay cash for the vehicle, and take their change in Freelanders. Plenty of great indy mechanics out there for most things, some dealer things will require their level of computer software. An indy shop that works on lots of Rovers may have a compatible computer, if you are his only LR3 client he may not have the software. This does not mean that you can't save money doing it your self or having an indy do most of the work.

Here is the maintenance schedule for the truck, I would advise doing the fluids maintenance at 50% of the interval suggested by Rover. The transmission fluid change should be done at 60K per the transmission factory, not 150K as written by the heartless Rover people. The whole set of manuals is a free download in links below.

Transmission Fluid Flush...our vehicle is at 73k Miles and Im guessing Dealer has never changed it..which Fluid should be used? Thanks

Dear Savannah
Please..help.
You've recommended trans fluid change.
Which Transmission Fluid can I use on my LR3(2006) that is not the Shell (super expensive one) recommended..but which is exactly the same/comp.
