Default Disco 2 is a good choice for overland trip?

Hello everyone and thank you for accepting me in this forum.

I am planning a round trip from the USA. USA To Argentina with my wife and 2 children, for this trip I bought a 2003 Discovery 2, it currently has 152k miles, but my great concern is that it spends more time in the workshop than on the road. I am very afraid of this vehicle, but I also love it, among the repairs that have been made are:
Change of cylinder head gaskets.
replacement of the time chain.
New injectors.
spark plugs and cables
180 degree thermostat
new oxygen sensors
new catalytic converter
oil pan gasket replaced,
new air conditioning compressor
And maybe I'll forget a few more things, anyway I just wanted to know if this would be a good vehicle for this, or better sell it and acquire another make and model.

I am not a mechanic, but with this truck I have learned something, but according to the specialist where I took it to repair, he says that it is a very good truck and that in 5 years it will cost a lot of money, perhaps he tells me why he can earn good money with my truck, but I'm almost bankrupt lol...

Thanks everybody.

Welcome to the forum.
It all depends on how well the previous owner took care of that Discovery 2.

Sounds fun! You got a 50/50 chance. Send pics along the way.
