We’ve recently purchased a disco 2 (2003) as a project car. I’ve looked around on the forum for info on several things and just hadn’t joined yet. Already met a few members buying things off classifieds and they suggested joining.
we got the truck for a song because the rear section of frame was rusty, and I figured I could do a rear frame section replacement… only to find out how wrong I was when I started going at the frame with a body hammer.
After seeing the structure behind the passenger rear spring perch was roasted I realized there was no saving the frame.
After much deliberation, we decided to go the full frame swap route. I recently picked up a clean low mile frame with axles for a very, very reasonable price.

It’s a labor of love on the cheap. I do realize it’s a TON of work, but having a setup that I can just drop the drivetrain in and set the body on should speed it up a little.
Thank you all, and I look forward to all of the savvy advice.
