Hello all I’ve got a discovery 3 2009 2.7 v6 instrument cluster went faulty so I had a second hand unit fit now it’s showing 2 different vin numbers and is immobilised can anyone help please I see loads of second hand clusters for sale so there must be something that can be done with them
Too many cowboys claiming they can work on d3 and getting payed for doing nothing… currently an instrument cluster fault stands me at £250 for cowboys who claim they can reprogram the cluster then blame the parking break module for it not starting to now shelling out another £320 for replacement parts so it will start and £180 for a parking break module that I needed but not at this current time spoke to a guy in Halifax Adamson independent who was very knowledgeable and filled in the blanks as to why the instrument cluster can not be tampered with.. it’s the king of immobilisers and can only be done by a gap 2 pro and correct information sending to recode the cluster.. if you try and copy or change the eeprom the car will auto correct its self and change the information back I’ve learnt the hard way and expensive way be careful who you trust with your discovery 1st cowboys deleted information on my clocks Same cowboys dash tec Batley wrote car off free of charge Bcm information Cluster information even though I was told it had been coded to the ecu and bcm information premier garage Wakefield £250 to not complete the job there answer land rovers are hard buy the below Solution replace everything to stop car been wrote off
Car now starts but has more can bus errors than owt memory seat don’t move steering wheel don’t move inter light on all time won’t lock boot won’t open suspension doesn’t work all terrain mode don’t work list prob goes on every module has an eeprom chip so now it has wrong vin it’s killed everything else
