Greetings lad and welcome to the forum from an Ex Pat. Lots of great Guys and gals on here with a wealth of infomation. As you have a TD5 then you might want to look at getting a chip improvement as I found the TD5 to be lacking in power before getting the chip tweaked. Embrace the joy and frustration that comes with owning a Land Rover

never worked it out but when i have a my 3.5 vouge that was 12 mpg so hope your doing better
