Default Finally got my Disco 1!!!

Picked up a 1997 Land Rover Discovery SD. I have wanted one of these ever since I was in high school! I love the looks, fit, form and function of these babies! This will be my base for a family camping, overlanding, adventure rig. Pretty stoked. Got it cheap and have been taking care of check engine lights, vacuum leaks, basically just an overall refreshing of this beautiful vehicle. Focusing on making the engine run reliable and consistently before I do any of the fun additions such as snorkel, winch or roof rack. I'll have lots of questions and I'll try to provide as many pictures as I can. Thanks guys and am so excited to own a Land Rover Discovery!

Welcome aboard.

You really don't need a snorkle unless you are just wanting it for looks. They were designed to provide clean air intake for the dusty desert type conditions and NOT for water wading just in case there was any question. The winch and the rack would be a great addition. Even better than all three is the knowledge on how to operate your CDL. If you are going to be off-roading and you want to run circles around your Jeep friends, read up on how to engage and disengage the CDL. Practice in a field somewhere before hitting the trails.

Interesting! I always thought the point of the snorkel was to raise the level of air intake to be well above any water line that might be encountered. Thanks for the advice on the CDL, I am definitely studying that little beauty! Thanks!
