Finally joined forum after leaching for a while
Hello from Tulsa Oklahoma. My lust/love/addition to the Discovery 2 came from my last year in high school, I worked as a car porter for the local Lexus dealership, it was also the Land Rover dealership but it was a separate side of the building. I remember when the salesmen were talking about the new Disco 2, I saw the pictures and then the first one hit the lot........I was in LOVE! I promised myself I would own one someday.........It only took 15 years but I now own 3 and am always looking for another to add. I bought my first Disco 2 about a year and a half ago. Orange SE7 loaded with 108k miles on it for $1,200, I rolled it within 90 days but found another one a 2000 in OkC for $800 and drove it back no problems (it currently has 252,876k miles) yrs it's over a quarter of a million miles and still kicking mud and humming over pavement. My next purchase was a 2001 SE7 loaded in really good condition for $1,500 and the guy let me pay it out for $50 a week....how could I pass on that? I've been up-down and everywhere in between with my Discos but it's hands down my favorite vehicle I have ever owned. I learned to drive in a 1981 Ford Bronco on the dirt roads of back woods Green country and the Discovery has always kinda reminded me of that truck.....only way more awesome and way less hillbilly. If only Land Rover had a roll down back glass and those cool wing side windows that folded out and blasted you with wind like those old Bronco's did. Glad to finally join and hopefully with add something to the conversations instead of just looking up info on how to improve my trucks.
Be good or be good at it.
