Default Hello, from Redlands CA

Hi, I just purchased my first Land Rover about two months ago, a 1999 Disco I. The PO had installed a custom bull bar, front & back skid plates, Hella HIDs, 2" OME lift, Flowmaster exhaust, and aftermarket steelies with BFG Mud Terrains. I'm impressed at how capable this rig is. I've already taken it on snowy and muddy fire roads in the San Bernardino Mountains, and though some gnarly rocky gullies in Joshua Tree.

It's currently laid up in the driveway, like a proper British-made auto. I jumped right in and replaced the leaky steering box and pipes & will replace the TRE ball joints next (3 of 4 boots shot) and a bad downstream O2 sensor. I've also blacked out the hood, added CB radio, and stripped and painted the headliner. No sunroofs, thank you very much. There are enough little projects on it to keep me busy for a good long time.

With a family & my own business, time is limited for DIY work. I'm trying to be patient with it. I've really been enjoying lurking & getting ideas and advice from this forum... thanks, moderators!

Cheers.

Consider an Ultra Gauge so you can keep a digital eye on the temps. Heat gauge is not real accurate. RAVE shop manual is a handy download.
