Hello Rover World, Soon to be new owner!
Hello all, I found a great dealer deal on a 2003 Discovery II with 76,000 miles for $4,990. Carfax is clean and I'm test driving it soon, but it just seems too good to be true. I read a thread here about a 60k checklist and the carfax report shows alot of those things being done.
Any Discovery II specific questions I can ask the dealer?
What sounds or movements should I be conscious of on the test drive?
This is my first time owning or driving in a few years so any help is much appreciated.

You'll need to have front drive shaft checked - if the oem style, the U-jooints at one end are sealed, the CTAs cook the grease out, the shaft snaps with no warning and beats a hole in transmission. Rebuild in advance or buy after market that is fully greaseable.
Temp gauge is not real speciifc - anything 130 - 240F makes it stay at 50%. Use a scanner to see real temps.
You may want to shop more. Better deal if head gaskets have been done.
