Help broke down
Just picked up a 2000 disco ii with 130000kms on rig. It was parked for a few years. Checked over truck before my 8 hours drive home in the night
F'ing air conditioning unit seized up. I'm stranded on side of hwy and have some tools with me. What can I do?
Can I remove the serpentine belt and drive for a bit then stop to cool engine down or is this not a good thing.
Also, can I bypass the air conditioning unit with a new shorter belt. If so what size belt will I need
Please someone help it is 1:44 am in the morning and trying to get home. Nearest community is one hour away

Still broke down. Now 7 am. I did remove the serpentine belt and it is not the air conditionng but the power brakes pump/ compressor the has seized.
I'm gonna take my time when there's enough light as not to run down battery and leap frog my way 100 kms to Canadian tire to see if I can get a slightly shorter serpentine belt to fit with the brake unit dissconnected.

Wow, man I hope you got it going. Welcome to the forum, I just got my first disco, not sure what all you can do as far as a shorter belt. I would not run it without a belt driving the waterpump. Good luck
