Hellow all, well my hunt is on for a disco II, and im looking foward to owning one.One of my firt jobs was working in a import car repair shop and we worked on alot of xj6 jags,early models from 82-90.Nice cars but lucas electric was ****.PLEASE tell me they got better over the years.This forum is great and i learned alot just by lurking around,thanks for having me aboard...........

welcome to the forum. i might have a d2 for you. im picking it up next month and am going to get it in good working order before i sell it.

Welcome, pleas download the full set of shop and opwners manuals, called the RAVE, linkl below. Look at www.statewidelist.com, indexes craigslist, for one state, you put in Rover, price ranges, dealer or pribvate sale - it sorts output by metro areas, so you are not chasing off to Rochester...

As for Lucas, still the prime reason the English drink warm beer.... and now we have China knocks offs of Lucas designs.....

Thanks for the reply and info,downloads are great.I have my eye on a 03 but the vin falls under the oil pump, engine replacment issue.It has a 100k on the clock so i fig it would of blew by now,thoughts?I have a limit of 5g's spending money............

some will tell you to buy it others will say no way.

the one im getting is an '01 with around 100k on the clock. it will be about half of your budget when im done with all the maintenance.

I just bought a 04 D2 myself and so far I love it! Driving it just feels right and it is way more comfortable than my Dads Series II 88'! Don't get as many looks from the girls though .
