I'm in the process of getting a 98 Disco w/ a 4.0. I have lots of questions.

 

Welcome. Please download the free RAVE tech manual below for your Rover. It is very big, has shop manual, electrical drawings, body panel and interior repairs, etc. Also, check the Discovery 1 section of the forum, the technical section lists lots of common fixes and suggested maintenance for high mile machines. It is hot where you live, and the Discovery temp guage is not calibrated like Detroits. The bottom 1/3 is normal, above mid point is overheating, and top 1/3 can be serious engine problems, wallet deflation, etc.
