Default Howdy from Texas

A big hello from outside of Austin, Texas. I am new to the forum, but a 30 year car collector who also works in the automotive and motorsports industry — so I am no stranger to these iconic vehicles. After buying my first Range Rover nearly 25 years ago, I have focused on collecting Porsche’s as a 25 year PCA member.

With the modern (2008-2016) Defenders not available in North America — I had given up hopes of owning one, until Land Rover came to their senses and offered the new re-introduced models. I am taking delivery of my 2023 defender 90 S in June 2023 — so back to JLR ownership.

I am proud to have configured my D90 in an old-school way: without air suspension, analogue gauges, no driver assistance aids, or urban creature comforts. It is Pangea green with white top and steely wheels, classic mudflaps and only the bare essential off-road accessories.

I’m keen to connect with like-minded enthusiasts on the site and trade insights to elevate our collective ownership experience.

Hi from Nova Scotia! I too am looking at a new Defender. I owned one of the first RR in North America back in 1987... and kept it until 2004. Along the way I removed the 3.5V8 and dropped in a 350 after getting an adapter ring from Overfinch. Anyway, never thought I'd be back, but there is something about British cars.

I'm looking at the D90 in green with no options except a trailer hitch and possibly/probably-not.... air suspension. I should know better. Steel wheels are a must!!
I'd like to take it to Labrador City. It would be a fun drive. Anyway, I like your build and thoughts of keeping it simple. I'm just joining to find out experiences with the different issues. I'm not worried, as I mentioned, I had a lot of issues with the '87! Cheers. Also... can you post a picture? Thank you.
