I used to be on a lot many years ago when i had a disco 1, but i went dormant for quite a while, so i figure it warranted a re-introduction. Since i was last on the forum, i've moved to Boston, sold my D1 to someone in West Virginia, had 2 kids, bought 6 motorcycles, sold 6 motorcycles, used the funds from motorcycle sales ot buy a 1964 Series iia 88", mostly resto'd the 88, most recently, i bought a 2020 defender for my wife, and that's what's got me back on the thread, is my interest in slowly modding her Defender and leveraging the conventional wisdom of this wonderful forum.
Also, i'm harvesting parts off a junker 1996 D1, i'm taking the axels for use on my series truck (hopefully) so i'll put something up in the D1 for sale section about parting out the D1.
Super excited to be back, and hopefully i can contribute again.
(Just saw my old D1 in my signature, and GOD do i miss that thing)
I was hoping some of the original cast of characters was still around! I miss the truck and tearing into that Valley pan was a big step in the right direction for me with rovers and cars and bikes in general. I learned if you take it off slow and pay attention, the engine doesn’t just miraculously blow up on you

What a beaut that series. It will outlive the new Defender by decades. Should have kept the D1!
ill never get another d1as clean as that thing was 1999 d1 no sunroof car. It was happy and dry. Well. No regrets right? My wife’s new defender already has one more locker than my disco did. So that’s something right??
Do you seriously keep these trucks parked on the street..
I seriously do. The series used to live in the garage when it leaked like a sieve. Now that it’s MOSTLY water tight it lives on the street. Im not sure if the defender will fit in the garage once I get the rack on it because the disco has been in the garage The
whole time. But my wife is used to it.
I live in Boston. There’s not a lot of three car garages on five acres around me. So you have to make do with what you got. As it is the other side of the two car garage. The second bay, belongs to my upstairs neighbor. So I’m already sharing the space
