Default James L. new D2 owner from Aurora, CO

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum. For my first adventure, I took my, new to me, 2003 Land Rover Discovery 2 SE7 above Idaho Springs, CO on FR 175.1 to Broomfield Gulch Road back into Central City. The locking transfer case swap from a 2004 (junk yard find) worked perfect. The traction control and hill decent was awesome. Ground clearance was good.

Along with a 04 CDL, I pulled an Old Man Emu suspension out of a junk yard and along with Hancooks AT LT265/75/16 tires I have total of 3" lift. The rears springs are heavy duty and the front are medium. I did get new front Old Man Emu shocks. The rear shock were still good.

I purchased the truck on July 3 for $1500 with only 106K miles on it. The previous owner thought the transmission was dead. Luckly it was not. I fix many CES codes that basically called for new upstream O2 sensors and a junk yard MAF. All the broken items have been fixed like door locks, sunroofs and front seat issues. I pulled a junk yard headliner and fixed it up before swapping it out. I have replace every fluid (trans, tc, front and rear diff, coolant (switched go G-04), and engine oil) except the brake fluid. I rebuilt the front and rear driveshafts, even the swivel roller bearing in the cardon joint. And fixed the coolant leak at throttle body too.

A big "Thank You" to everyone that has contributed to the forum. All I needed to do was search and that made this a fun project. This thing "wheels" better than my 2002 Tundra TRD and my old long dead Pathfinder.
