what people call commonly call freeze plugs are in actuality core plugs made so that the sand can be removed from the casting. They are not intended to be used as freeze protection, they usually are the weakest point when the block does freeze.

get a flash light, some goggles and get wet

I would never weld a car block..not that I haven't done it with mixed results just to try (on a boat so it wasn't as big of an issue with a constant new water flow). As for "freeze plugs", the might work some of the time with mild freezes but definetly not something to depend on. Most engines will crack on the sides of the block but when it thaws aluminum can retract more than iron and close back up and be hard to see. I would fill it up and pressure test the block without it running so you can see and hear without fear of putting your hand were it gets butchered. If its as bad as you say you might be able to just have a buddy plug the overflow tune and blow in the top of the overflow tank, preferably a tuba/trombone player..

I only saw one person out here today (my uncle) and I forgot to ask him to blow into my reservoir! I took a few thing off of the front of the motor to get a better look and it appears to be flowing from the case. It looks like (hopefully) dries sap called it with the timing case and or water pump?

Default Stuck Oil Pan

I read a really nice write up on here about removing the oil pan. I have all 20 bolts out of it but the thing will not drop.
I have four screwdrivers wedged into the front of the thing and there is a little separation. I'm afraid to put much pressure on it. I don't know if the previous owner he it off. Is there a procedure for this?

i believe i found the rave incorrect on the number of bolts by 2. check and i think you will find two more

Thank you! I drove in to town and looked at a mechanic's diagram which was different than the RAVE. Somehow I did miss the two bolts that are recessed. I suck. But now I do not know nothing. I know something so I will try to post in the proper category from here on out. There is still hope! Somehow I just know my Discovery 2 is going to end up in a rap video. I can feel it.

I thought of something over the weekend. Check all the bolts on the water pump (especially the 11mm larger ones). If these loosen up even a little the water will seep where yours is. If they are loose then you have to figure out why, water froze and pulled the threads, former owner did a WP and didn't tighten enough..etc.
