My neighbor purchased a 91 Range Rover on an online auction site for $500. He employed the use of me and my truck to run a car trailer a state away to retrieve this inexpensive find. We were safely back to our small Nevada town and began assessing this vehicle. We quickly diagnosed that the engine was shot as nothing but antifreeze drained out of the oil pan. Frustrated and lesson learned about buying sight unseen, he offered the inoperable beauty to me at the price of some labor exchange. I took him up on the offer as I have a male teen that will need a durable vehicle to drive and wrench on and learn about.
I had to purchase a used good running complete motor from a nice Rover enthusiast in Modesto, CA who has been more than generous. Now the fun begins with the motor swap. I need the use of this forum and others to assist me in reattaching wires and lines and actually get this running once the new motor is in. Every time i look under the hood of this project, I wonder what I've gotten myself into. To counter those doubtful feelings, my confidence kicks in and I imagine this vehicle running properly and safely. i thank you all in advance for your support.
