New Disco II owner in Anchorage
I've almost always did my own wrenching and have owned a lot of different vehicles - British, German, Italian, and domestic - but I'm new to Land Rovers.
We bought our '99 Discovery II with a blown head gasket. It had been sitting about a year. Had the heads shaved 0.005" and installed the gasket kit. New battery. Fired right up . . . Yay! I've since learned that the three lights that are lit have a name - 3 amigos. It ran fine for a few days. Many starts and stops. Then it stranded me at work. Key to start and no starter - no clicks or spin.
So, I've already learned enough to know that membership in this forum is almost a must for shade tree amateurs like me and I'm looking forward to finding my way around it and getting some help with this (and future) quirks.
Anyone else up here in Alaska?
