Default New Disco Owner

After searching high and low for a 'truck' that could tow my race car and trailer, I ended up with a 96 Discovery SD. My wife and I have owned mostly European cars (VW/Audis) so it's a good fit for our stable. I'm looking forward to seeing if all the 'horror stories' about the Land Rovers are true or not. It took me four hours yesterday to do one rear brake due to some stuck fasteners. I hope the other side is just as easy

Default welcome

The 'horror stories' will only come true if you neglect regular maintenance and don't deal with problems as soon as they pop up. Read the "How to" section, do the 60K service and don't forget to unhook the trailer every once and a while and take it off road where it's supposed to be

Thanks! I was going to do the 60k in pieces when I can. Still trying to find the time to get to that other rear brake between all the rain and cold. Unfortunately the Disco doesn't fit in my garage!

Loving the truck so far though.

Welcome aboard!! Great information, make sure to play with the search feature and learn how to use it before you have a major issue and need help. I have found that reading through post that are not even an issue for me, prepares me for things that come up. When I have issues on my D2, I am reminded of what I have read, and have a good jump start on repairs and also on what not to do to make things worse.

Enjoy the forum !!
