I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is John I live in southern NJ and I recently bought a 2001 land rover discovery. This is my first car or truck that hasn't been a mustang. The Disco II has a little over 100k miles and is in pretty good shape. I look forward to becoming a part of the land rover community.

Welcome. You'll find a complete set of factory tech manuals and owners manuals on the free download below. It is called the RAVE. Please check out the list of 60K + maintenannce items listed on the forum, read the tech articles in the D1 "tech sticky" area for propshaft rebuild (if not equipped with zerk fittings, they "chirp", then snap and spear a hole in the tranny). Temp gauge should stay 9:00, if above, overheat has begun.

One of the first things i did was to download the rave file when I bought the truck. So far just reading the forum and rave file has saved me some time and money lol. I bought the truck as is off a dealer lot in Trenton NJ, and she had some minor problems. Check engine light was on, wipers worn down to the metal frame, a non functional front sun roof, saggy headliner, and non working horns. So far I've been fixing one problem and checking it off the list. I have to say I'm finding the truck a little easier to work on than my 06 mustang lol.

In the RAVE, you'll find that some things are in one part, like circuit diagrams, while the color photo of the connector and location is in the electrical library. You can also use the search feature to find everywhere it talks about code P1234, etc.

Thankfully the codes were just related to a bad MAF and have since been fixed. I currently using the wiring diagrams to trace the the problem with the front sun roof. Once I get an idea of possible causes for the failure I'm going to tackle that problem spring time. That and removing and painting the headliner.
