Default New. Few ?'s

New here. Been member of other forums. Zcar.com. BMW forum. Jeep forum

I'm having 2nd kid so gotta get rid of jeep. I'm looking at used lr3 or rang rover. Main question is there anything I should look for specifically.
&. Is it ok to get one with close to or over 100,000 miles ? Or after that should I try to stay clear. ?

Thanks for help

welcome to the forum. i have been a super moderator and an admin on various forums, volvo, ford, impala, mercedes benz, etc. i have found that certain members here are helpful while the rest are kind of standoff-ish. mostly the type to pm you and tell you to search for it yourself. discomike is an ex-mech for LR (i think) and he has a check list that you should take a look at before you decide to purchase one. they are finicky and they do need to be looked after. if you keep up on the scheduled maintenance and take care of any problems before they become HUGE headaches, you should be okay. i am also new to the LR owners "club" and am learning and messing up as i go along. good luck and post some pics if you do take the leap into owning one of these magnificent, yet head scratchingly inane, vehicles

sounds like you are looking at 07 and 08 vehicles? The Range Rover will give you more space but will also be more expensive. The Lr3 has had better reliability but the Range has been better when it comes to handling and overall driving. If you are looking for something unique to drive the family around in i would get an Lr3 but prepared to handle repairs. If you are at all concerned with the reliability of your family vehicle I would get a Lexus R350 which is considered another mid-size luxury SUV.

Less than 24 hours since you posted, a good portion of it when people are sleeping. And you're getting pissy because people haven't responded to a technical question, that's been answered dozens of times, in a section where it clearly says not to post technical questions. Not to mention not everyone drive's LR3's or RR's so wouldn't even know the answer. And those who do, many aren't constantly monitoring the forum for people asking what to look for in a LR3 and RR.
Good way to introduce yourself.

Actually my bad. I had 2 dif threads opened, that asked same question. And replied on wrong one.

Yea around those years. Right now I'm looking at an 05 lr3 SE with 64k. On it.
Don't really like the Lexus. If anything I'd get a BMW x5. But like lr3 more I think. I see less of em

I like range rover more. But they run more.

I just want a good vehicle that I can carry my kids in when I have both of them.
My gf has brand new Kia sorrento. Her car gets used the most. I don't do a lot of driving. Might change when get new car cause jeep just wasn't practical for travel.
