New to forum with a Saab story.
Hello
We own a 2001 Disco with the normal amount of problems until the engine failed. We are now preparing to remove the engine and find out why it overheated,& repair or replace it as needed. Its still a good car otherwise, (but the engine thing has really got me ticked!) I have already posted and have gotten a response from Mike the retired Service manager and am hoping I can find out all I need as not to over look anything during the project. I will keep everyone posted as the info makes itself known.

We have operated the car with water in the oil and it now runs rough and the oil looks like soup, I'm going to dissasemble and inspect as much as I can and try to determine were the coolant is getting in. We have a local machine shop who has repaired these sleeve issues before with no comebacks. I plan to remove the engine and the pan and then pressure test the block with all components still in place as much as possible, hopefully we will find a smokeing gun, If I could afford it I would just order a long block and be done with it, but as it goes now I can only afford what I can do myself. I have been a mech since 1979 first on motorcyles then Airplanes with cars and trucks thrown in between. mY cell # 980 875 0114. -------------------------------Neil
