New guy - 2001 Discovery in SoCal
Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself, mainly so I can look at the pics of other guys rides and need that magical 10 posts.
Just picked up a 2001 Discovery and absolutely love it. From what I read these things are:
1. Fuel efficient
2. Never break down
3. If they do break down parts and cheap and plentiful
4. They have great visibility out of the back
Okay, a touch of sarcasm obviously, but I really love this thing. I always said I would never own a vehicle that required 91 octane, or was black, so of course I bought a black Disco...
This thing is truly amazing, even in mostly stock form. I have only done the CDL swap from an earlier Disco and this thing is extremely capable. Took my sons out on some local trails and it did a great job, even with street tires. Plans are AT or MT tires, maybe a lift later, fab some bumpers, rock sliders, diff/undercarriage armor, etc. And then go beat on it some more.
I am sure I will have lots of questions as I am searching and searching and reading up on everything, but it would seem as though 99% of the questions I originally had are already answered previously.
Take care all, and thanks for a kick *** site.
