Default New guy from California

Hello all,

New guy here from California. I recently just purchased a 1998 Discovery V8I, 121K miles on it, and just starting out with it. Never did i dream i would get rid on my little 2dr coupe and get one of these, but i will admit, i am enjoying the change. I do have a couple of stereo questions but i will post those in the audio section. If anyone has any suggestions on what would be great for saving fuel other then a K&N air filter would be great. Hope to talk to many of ya soon.

Welcome. Download the set of factory manuals and wiring diagrams, called the RAVE, at links below. Other than premium gas, tire psi at 40, new plugs and wires, not much you can do with a 4500 pound brick. Main thing to watch is engine temp, don't let that gauge sneak past 50%. You'll want to look at an Ultra Gauge, UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool, which can display things (like coolant temp and mpg) and read and reset codes. Look over articles in our tech section. Lots of things to change oil in under the truck (engine, front swivels, differentials, transfer case), and such.
