New Land Rover owner
Hello, I am new to the land rovers I am A quality inspector and structural aircraft mechanic for military aircraft. I just purchased a 2003 Range Rover HSE, Its in Good condition but has issues with the ECU and the single line display shows trans failsafe the OBD codes the ECU but does not code the Transmission doing some research a lot of posts recommend checking out the battery which I have done as it was dead new battery installed I checked the fuses all ok I am considering sending the ECM to a repair service does anyone recommend a good place also, I think that the trans failsafe is ECU related any advice would be appreciated Thanks Jimmy
This is what my rover specific OBD reads out Engine 1 code 1630 Throttle position sensor, 2 P0130 O2 sensor circuit bank 1 upstream sensor, 3 P0150 O2 sensor circuit bank upstream sensor, 4 P0606 ECM/PCM processor. Transmission 1 interface BUS fault, 2 CAN bus fault No DMER2 received from ECU DTS 3 CAN bus fault No EGS1 received from auto gearbox ECU DTC status, 4 CAN bus fault No DMER4 from ECU DTC, 5 CAN bus fault No DMER1 received from ECU DTC Thanks for the response Jimmy
I am assuming you have cleared the codes since the battery has been replaced and it is fully charged? Low voltage or a dead battery in the newer Land Rovers can lead to a laundry list of codes with no real faults.
Well I feel stupid now I cleared all the codes and the TPS sensor was the only code remaining then got to thinking about the bus items and I found a 30 amp fuse blown all problems went away that was eng and trans-related now I will work on the ABS light and air ride immobilized Thanks for your guidance and making me think LOL Jimmy
