New (to me) Discovery II in Texas
Howdy,
I have had my 2001 Discovery 2 SE for a few months now. It has 99k miles and the previous owner supplied me with all the service records. The previous owner put in a rebuilt 4.6 ~20k ago after head gasket issues. I love it (I was expecting poor fuel economy), and so far my issues with it have only been minor.

I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. Future plans for the Discovery are rebuilt drive shafts with greasable U-joints (I'm surprised the previous owner let this go), coolant flush, fix my 3 Amigos that showed up after off-roading the first time
, flip rear bracket and add full-sized spare, CDL linkage, driving lights, replace worn out leather shifter cover, Trasharoo, hood blackout, thermostat mod?, lift, I could go on all day..
Are there many other people in the Houston area? I will try to attend the Houston Land Rover Club (HLRC) meeting next Wednesday. I have been searching for a used ABS Amigo and have not yet found one. Any advice on where to pick one up would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Matt

A Trasharoo looks like a backpack and it straps to your rear spare and holds your trash bags outside the vehicle until you can get to a place to dump it. It's made for longer trips, like overlanding. They're pretty cheap and a great way to tread lightly.
Thanks! I'm enjoying it so far. I'm pretty new to Discos, but in my opinion, the Disco 1 and 2 are very similar.

Welcome! Very nice DII, love that color. You are one lucky bloke to find one with an SD rack!
I think there are a few forum members in the Houston area, try searching "Houston" in all of the sections and see if you can find some chatter.
Happy Rovering!

I'll use the search function. I've tried to do a little background reading so I'm not the guy everyone is yelling at to use the Search, ha.
I can't wait to get a few tweaks done maintenance wise and get her back out on the trail.
Oh, that makes since. Welcome to the site!
I think I'll be doing a brake job on mine pretty soon. I'll let ya know when I can hit the trails after doing some maintenance.
