Default new member--buying first land rover

Hello all,
I just joined the forum because I am purchasing my first Land Rover and as such I am trying to educate myself as much as possible. I'm looking at getting a 2004 Disco with just over 100K miles. I know the reputation of these vehicles and although I am not necessarily highly skilled, I do look forward to working on some basic maintenance projects. So far I have found this forum to be extremely helpful and informative. the guy I am buying it from is the fourth owner so it is not coming with much maintenance history. he did replace the crank shaft 2 years ago, the headliner is beginning to droop, a turn signal is out (could be just the bulb or something electrical), and the passenger window won't come down (motor/electrica?). But he says there are no leaks and it runs
great. anyway, wish me luck and let me know if you have any suggestions or advice. thanks. cheers
