Hey everyone. I've always loved Disco's and I am finally in the market for an SUV. I am a little concerned about the bad reputation LR has in regard to reliability. I'm sure a lot of it is just hype but there are some reoccuring themes that I am hearing. For instance, the motors on the Disco I's have an issue with the intake manifold and possibly the exhaust valves. Are failures pertaining to these parts common? I am not too worried about small little annoyances, however, I need this to be reliable daily transport. The big $$ problems are my main concern. Any advice? I really want a disco!!!
Greetings!
The Disco I has some issues that usually have been addressed by previous owners as long as the vehicle went through dealer servicing earlier in it's life. Read my tech info sections at www.eurotekapg.com
And best of luck in finding a clean vehicle. Remember--it's all about the service records the seller has in hand.
