Default New owner of 2001 Discovery

Hello, my name is Bob. I just bought a 2001 Discovery in excellent condition. This is the nicest ride I have ever owned in my life. I paid $7,500 cash for it and believe me when I say that it was a major gulp to spend that much money at one time. It was an impulse buy. I was just looking around and saw it and fell in love. I live at the base of the Texas Hill Country and frequently have to use some pretty primitive roads. Since I spent all my money on the Land Rover, I sure hope nothing breaks for a while. ...Bob

Thanks Randy. This looks like a nice group to belong to. I am already enjoying my Disco. It has a couple of issues I am finding out, but nothing too serious so far. When I bought it I thought I was getting a real "steal" of a deal but I was wrong. I paid an average price for a 2001. Not disappointed though. Love my Disco.

Randy, there are no scuffs on any of the rims, they look brand new to me. This truck is frickin' awsome! We will see how tough it is (it is already being worked pretty hard). I had to buy a new receiver hitch. Somebody removed the factory one before I bought it. I got it from Rover Connection for $275. Not too bad since the dealer here in San Antonio wanted over $800 to fix me up. I will probably need some help with the wiring though. Where do they put the trailer connector? I can't find it and hope I don't have to do all the wiring myself. ...Bob

sorry sharpfocus i realy dont know, the discos weve had have never had tow bars with the power supply, but i do know that the 2006 range rover trailor wires go through the actuall tow bar and through a hole into the interior where they connect to the power source, so i assume the wires will be either inside or underneath the truck, have a look around your truck see whqat you can come up with

That vehicle looks amazing. I haven't bought one yet, but I'm looking now and that does seem a little more inexpensive than most of the ones I've seen in the same category. Everyone on this forum loves their vehicles and I want one bad, I'm a little intimidated at all the work that people put into them, but if your on a forum I suppose you have everyone's problems at your finger tips. Well I'm still looking and hope to find a vehicle as nice as yours. I'm in the same boat as you if I throw down that money I want it to run w/out to much fuss because I will be eating ramen noodles for awhile thanks
