New from PDX!
Hello everyone! New here and ready to learn! I don't have a Land Rover yet, but I'm looking at getting one.
I really want a Disco II SE7. Found one locally, and it says it's had a $3500 engine rebuild. I believe it's the 4.0L. After that, he lists the following:
"- new crank
- new rod bearings
- new main bearings
- new rings
- new camshaft
- new lifters
- new oil pump
- new timing set
- new water pump
- heads resurfaced and pressure tested, valve seals
- new oil, filter, plugs
Both sunroofs have been removed and cleaned and resealed. No leaks!"
Do any of you seasoned Disco owners think this sounds legit? I'm going to look at it tomorrow, and honestly if he doesn't have receipts for all of that, I'm probably going to walk away. I've done a small amount of research on the overheating issues of the engine, but am by no means an expert.
Is there anything else I should look for? Three Amigos are not on though!
Thanks for any and all advice! I can't wait to start learning and exploring!
