Newbie Member with ABS problem
First of all, Hi to all
I am on my second disco in 4 years. first was a high mileage Tdi which I sold after 18mths ( just in time, it decided to call it a day a few months later). I then progressed onto a Td5 which blew its engine after only 4mths. turned out it had,had a prevoius problem with the oil pump, which had been codged to get it sold then packed up altogether when I took ownership.
I managed to get a replacement engine, very cheap ( no, not stolen)
and it has ran well since. Except for a few minor hitches
I have just had a new whell bearing put on the front and a week or so after getting it back, I have had a system fault come up on the ABS.
This came up in the form of abs, tc, hill descent and brake light staying on permanantly. The mechanic reset the system but it has come back up.
I had a quick look through a Haynes manual and it said something about ensuring the abs sensor is clean before re-assembly. Is it this straight forward or is it something more serious.
Many thank to all who can offer guidance
Dave
