Default Nick, the New Guy in Brooklyn

Hey all,

Nick here. I caught the Rover bug bad from my pops. Grew up pretty much only knowing Land Rovers. We had a '91 Classic, 98 P38, and two Disco 2's.

Recently came into a 2003 Disco 2 for zero dollars so looking to have fun restoring it as a reliable weekend getaway vehicle.

If anyone could recommend a dependable, knowledgable LR mechanic in Brooklyn or Queens, that would be great! From what I'v read though, Carlos in the Bronx is the best. But it's a haul for me.

Thanks! Hoping to learn a lot on these boards.

Hi Nick,

Did you end up finding a decent LR mechanic in Brooklyn/Queens?

I'm Brooklyn-based too, had been using Bay Diagnostic in Sheepshead Bay for my 2000 D!!, but it's a trip out there from my area and pricey.

No have a coolant loss/overheating issue with the thing and wanted to see if there was anyone else out there.

Hi Stu, I've used Joe's Corner Repair a couple times. It's no big bargain but they seem to do good work. And actually there are always a bunch of really cool SUVs hanging around. Old Land Cruisers, built up Jeeps, a couple nice G-Wagens etc.
