No LR yet
Hey all, just joined to get the lay of the land and start the process of determining which LR I want. Have some ideas, but need to do research.
Currently own Internationals and (gasp) Land Cruisers, so no stranger to overlanding and off roaring. Looking forward to the LR learning process.

The LR is intended to ferry the family about to camping trips, ski trips, the beach, drag trailers with motorcycles on them, surf fishing trips, and the like. I currently use my FJ80 for all of this, but have been in the parts gathering stage for a total rebuild, repower, and modification session to start on the 80, so it will be off the road for while. Plus, I want something a little more cushy for my tushy.
I live in the city so I'm leaning towards the LR3 or 4 as opposed to the Range Rover since they are narrower. I've read that the LR3 is a slightly better platform for overlanding, but given that I won't be doing any hardcore four wheeling in it, just the beach and fire roads in the mountains, I'm leaning towards a newer and thus lower mileage LR4.
