Default Oh shoot. What have I done?

So, I have many years experience driving in building jeeps of all sorts. Lately I've been wanting to get another project vehicle, and something that I can drive in the winter time here in Colorado. I'll be damned if I didn't just commit to buy a 97 discovery. I'll be picking it up tomorrow. Based on reading all the horror stories, I fully expect it to explode on the way home.

OK ok. Just kidding about it exploding. I've read a bunch of posts on here over the last few months (paying the most attention to the more rational ideas) , and I feel like this is the type of project vehicle I want to give a shot.

I have always wanted a Land Rover, and now I'm going to see what it's all about.

Wish me luck!

Welcome to the Land Rover Cult. While good luck is great, Knowledge is power. I got my first LR in February, and read reviews that would make you cringe. Most said run, don't walk away. That being said, this has been one of the easiest vehicles for me to work on. I joined 3 Rover Forums, and this one is by far the best one. I recommend you keep reading as many posts as possible and soon you will feel very comfortable with your purchase.
Best of Luck to you.

the advantage to LR is you dont have to deal with all the rust eating your truck like a jeep

Welcome to the forum. LR Love is a disease, but it's a nice disease to have.
