Default plenum gasket\acidic smell

landrover said the smell which you can really smell when the truck is just shut off. was my valve cover gaskets, but. it doesn't smell like oil. they also said it would need a MAF sensor and all o2 sensors replaced. my extented warranty company says all the truck needs is a plenum gasket. and wont pay for anything until this gasket is replaced. then check out the other parts. does this make sense to anyone? 2000 disco and she eats petrol like its going out of style

You need to contact your dealer and ask for all the fault codes, by number, and get back to us with them.
How many miles on your truck?
The MAF will cause your exhaust to smell like sulfur, cut back your power and cause some shifting problems between 3rd and 4th gears.
Your intake gasket will not have any effect on your O2's. Being a retired Rover service mangaer I have to say, they are not making alot of sense.
As for yourextended warranty co., they are running the show, got to roll with their request. Make sure you get the codes before anything is done.
